Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -  9  not by works, so that no one can boast.  

John 1:11-12
He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.  12  Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -
